Austin’s annual Greek FestivalJust an entry fee of $5 stands in your way of a good time. The festival runs from May 26-28. It will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
See true Greek hospitality firsthand at the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church. With an exception of service animals, no pets are allowed in the building. “Our Festival church tours will draw you into the Byzantine art and mesmerize you with the love and closeness of our community,” read an excerpt from the festival’s website. “Let us bring the beauty and joy of our faith, love, cuisine and customs to you without ever leaving the Texas Hill Country.”
The yearly event was created to support the Building Expansion Fund, and all proceeds go toward that cause. The Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church started in 1985 at Justin Lane, later moving to St. Stephens Road.
