The incident reportedly began earlier in the day. According to sheriff’s deputies, a man opened fired on law enforcement but no law enforcement officers have been shot, according to Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch.Cavette had been talking to negotiators but the situation deteriorated rapidly, Burch said. MCSO has deployed tear gas multiple times to try to get the suspect out of the home, according to authorities. Cavette still talking to negotiators, Burch said.
According to Burch, officers have a probate order had been signed by the Saraland PD on Cavette arising from a domestic incident that took place incident several days to a week ago and Cavette has “deteriorated” because of that.
