The winner is voted for by the public but the nominees were chosen by an industry panel. The jury was chaired by Andrew Orr, managing director of film production company , and comprised actors Vanessa Kirby, Cynthia Erivo and Gemma Whelan, broadcaster Edith Bowman, critic Anna Smith, producers Uzma Hasan, Marc Samuelson and Georgina Lowe, and casting directors Nina Gold and Lucy Bevan.
The 2020 Rising Star winner will be announced during the BAFTA ceremony in London on February 2, one week ahead of the Oscars. Previous winners of the ‘new talent’ prize include Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya and Tom Holland.Read More About:
