We chat with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: MutantMayhem star Ayo Edebiri (ayoedebiri) about collaborating with Seth Rogen and Jeff Rowe, as well as discovering April O'Neil's layers:
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Donatello set out on a mission to win over the people of New York in the hopes of being accepted. The four Turtle brothers meet a new friend, April O'Neil, who helps them as they hunt down a crime syndicate. Things get more dangerous when a mutant army is sent after the Turtles, complicating their mission.
Ayo Edebiri: I think I really wanted to just try to honor the fact that they were all teenagers. I think that was something that Jeff and Seth were really seeking in this, and then being around the boys and listening to their performances, it was hard not to harken back to that time a little bit. So, I think I just really wanted to tap into that, and tap into the fact that she's very driven.
Now, Seth and Jeff are huge Ninja Turtle fans. Can you talk to me about working with them as collaborators on this project?
