San Diego State adds potential starter in Cody Moon, a second-team Mountain West selection who led Rocky Long's Lobos defense with 105 tackles this season
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Moon has three more years of eligibility. He is an Albuquerque native who joined the Lobos as a walk-on in 2020 and redshirted his first year with the program.
“I just felt I had to do what was best for me,” said Moon, who said he is moving out to San Diego in two weeks. “I need to grow as a player and I just need to find a program that can develop me a little bit more. GIAs are binding to the school, but not the player. As such, Moon’s commitment does not become official until he attends a class. SDSU’s spring semester begins Jan. 25.
