Henry Chan has been a regular at Rock ‘N’ Roll races across the world the last decade.

Dressing up as Elvis is something of a trend at the event. During the race’s inaugural running in 1998,raced dressed as the rocker. Since that first event, the trend has taken off—in 2008, a record 157 runners donned the signature style of the King of Rock and Roll. “It’s hard to not sign up for a race because it feels like people expect Elvis to be there, and that’s me,” he said.
This year’s edition of the event drew 25,000 runners across the weekend’s three routes. Of these, 40 “legacy” runners have taken part in every year since its inception—and while Chan isn’t considered a legacy runner, his feat is still a special one.
