Seattle Police are still trying to locate the suspect involved in the attack.
Department, witnesses called 911 at approximately 5:15 p.m. Monday to report that the female bartender was attacked. By the time police arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene on foot.
"Witnesses told officers that the suspect attacked the bartender with a sharpened broomstick after she asked for proof of vaccination," a statement from SPD read. The mandate also allows unvaccinated patrons to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test from a testing provider in the last 72 hours. Individuals who do not follow county rules can face sanctions and fines.
