The film centers around the"father" of the atomic bomb, Julius Robert Oppenheimer, and some of its scenes feature the University of California, Berkeley campus, where Oppenheimer was a professor of physics from 1929 to 1943. The film was shot using one of the highest resolution cameras available today, a combination of IMAX 65mm and Panavision 65mm film stock. It is then best projected on IMAX 70mm, which Bay Area moviegoers can enjoy.
It's also the first time in history that a movie has combined shooting in IMAX 65mm with IMAX black-and-white analog photography.
