Dale J. Chordorowski was accused of knifing the victim while the 70-year-old man was having lunch with his wife at Fairfield Burger King.
A 36-year-old parolee will soon face more than a decade in state prison as part of a plea agreement that settled his case for stabbing an elderly man in a Fairfield fast food restaurant in 2018.
The judge then ordered Chordorowski to return for sentencing at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 2 in the Justice Center in Fairfield, where he will be sentenced to 11 years in state prison and be on parole supervision for three years after release from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The judge also noted that Chordorowski received 1,772 days of custody credits, or nearly five years.
During a previous court proceeding, the defendant also faced a restoration-of-mental-competency hearing in connection with the attempted murder charge for stabbing the man, who was 80 at the time of the attack. Court records show Pendergast on May 6, 2019, referred Chordorowski to MHM Services, a contract provider of health services to government agencies, with a secure facility in Vallejo, for evaluation after the defendant was deemed to be incompetent.
