The arrests and seizure of the weapons in all three incidents started with traffic stops, Bayonne police Capt. Eric Amato said Tuesday.
Micah A. Brown and Nazareth R. Henry, both 20 and from Hillside, and Marquis J. Cenatus, 27, of Elizabeth were arrested in the area of 55th Street and Broadway on Oct. 26 at 8:46 p.m. after the BMW they were traveling in was seen committing numerous traffic violations, Amato said.
Cenatus was confirmed to be wanted on three outstanding warrants from Union Beach, North Brunswick and Roselle and he was also arrested. The driver of the vehicle was issued several traffic summonses and released. After observing the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu commit numerous traffic violations, officers stopped the vehicle and the on-scene investigation led to the recovery of a 9mm semi-automatic handgun loaded with two hollow-point and six full metal jacket bullets from Scurry.
A few hours later, Dontae R. Black, 32, of Leesburg, was arrested in the area of 28th Street and Prospect Avenue, Amato said.
