Beech Grove father facing neglect, firearms charges after boy waves gun on live tv
Shane Osborne was formally charged with dangerous control of a firearm and two counts of neglect of a dependent Jan. 17, 2023, according to the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.father was taken into custody after a video broadcast on live TV showed his young son waving a handgun in the air and at one point pointing the weapon at his head with his finger on the trigger.during the TV show’s live broadcast Saturday.
Officers went upstairs to the apartment where they believed the child lived, and the door was answered by a boy. Osborne then walked to the front of the apartment and stated he had been sick all day and did not know his child left the unit, according to police. Osborne assisted officers in a “cursory” search of the apartment and no firearms were in plain view, according to the affidavit.
Officers went back to the man’s apartment and stated they had video of the child holding a gun. The man continued to deny owning a gun but stated a relative may have left one in the apartment, according to the affidavit.
