U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders published on Aug. 26 a plan for saving journalism in the Columbia Journalism Review.
He proposes several initiatives including blocking the immediate approval of mergers of news organizations, and taxing targeted digital advertising and using the revenue to fund nonprofit media.
