This week’s round-up of the best meals we’ve had recently covers the full spectrum of dining – from a swanky new restaurant experience to a dish you can make with the cans of beans hiding in the back of your pantry. Good food is good food, regardless of price or if it’s eaten in a velvet banquette or by the light of the fridge.The Salty Donut is a Miami-based shop that opened in Dallas' Bishop Arts District in 2020. Its second spot in Dallas is a teeny kiosk in Klyde Warren Park.
I love a bowl of French onion soup, especially this time of year. So on a dreary Sunday morning at Klyde Warren Park with my kids, new doughnut shop The Salty came in clutch with its French Onion Crunch Roll. It’s basically a bowl of French onion soup without the broth. The brioche, puffy and warm, was filled with caramelized onions and mozzarella cheese. I was almost unwilling to share it with my kids, but I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to sell them on caramelized onions at such a young age.
