Beyoncé and Jay-Z are working with Tiffany & Co. to provide $2 million in scholarships to five HBCUs.
with Tiffany & Co., announced on Thursday that their charities BeyGOOD and the Shawn Carter Foundation have partnered with the luxury jewelry brand to launch the About Love Scholarship program.
Together, they have pledged $2 million in scholarship funding to Historically Black Colleges and Universitites -- also known as HBCUs -- to help students who are pursuing studies in history, communications, or the arts. The scholarship will be award to five colleges that are both private and public.
In order for a student to qualify for the scholarship, they must be receiving financial aid under their HBCU. The scholarship is based on need, and priority will be given to students who are in need of economic assistance or are in a financial hardship. The size of the award will also be based upon need.
