BI is expected to hike rates by 25 basis points to 4% but there are a few analysts who look for a larger 50 bps move. “We expect BI to hike the policy rate by 25 bps amid rising inflation pressures. Inflation is likely to continue rising as the impact of the hike to fuel prices on 3 September continues to filter through to other goods and services. The government estimates that inflation will end 2022 at 6.6-6.8%, which is broadly in line with our own projections.
