The Biden administration is considering making settlement payments to migrants who were separated from their children during the Trump administration's 'zero-tolerance policy,' according to two people familiar with the planning.

on the payments, citing sources familiar with matter saying an amount of around $450,000 a person -- which could amount to nearly $1 million a family -- was being discussed.

Former acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf slammed the proposal as"insulting to American taxpayers" and"dangerous" in an interview with ABC News on Friday. "It appears as though they refused to go into court and to advocate against paying individuals or compensating individuals that have knowingly broken the law," he said.
