President Joe Biden cracked a joke about wishing sometimes that he was 'cognitively impaired' following his State of the Union address on Thursday night.
As Biden made his way through the House chamber after delivering his remarks, he spoke with several members of Congress. Rep. Jerry Nadler remarked that “nobody’s going to talk about cognitively impaired now,” referring to Biden’s energy throughout the more than hourlong speech.
Biden’s age and mental acuity have come into question in recent years as the president has had several gaffes and awkward moments. Special counsel Robert Hur released a report last month declining to prosecute Biden for his alleged mishandling of classified documents, provided a damning assessment of the president’s mental state, and detailed his alleged “poor memory.
