JUST IN: Indentations on President JoeBiden's face were caused by a CPAP machine, according to the White House.
“Since 2008, the president has disclosed his history with sleep apnea in thorough medical reports," a White House spokesperson told Bloomberg."He used a CPAP machine last night, which is common for people with that history."Lines were evident on Biden's cheeks as he answered questions from reporters on the South Lawn before traveling to Chicago for an economic address and fundraiser.
White House physician Dr. Kevin O'Connor last provided an update on the president's health earlier this month when he advised the public that Biden had undergone a root canal at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center."He was not put under general anesthesia," White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at the time."The 25th Amendment certainly was not invoked. And he received local anesthesia for the procedure.
After the second physical of his presidency in February, O'Connor described Biden as a"healthy, vigorous, 80-year-old male, who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the presidency" before he seeks reelection next year.
