Microsoft founder Bill Gates has said he “shouldn’t have had dinners” with Jeffrey Epstein
Microsoft founder Bill Gates said he “shouldn’t have had dinners” with Jeffrey Epstein during an interview with Australia’s ABC 7 .30. Gates and Epstein, the powerful financier who was accused of child sex trafficking before dying, of an apparent suicide, in a New York City jail cell while awaiting trial, had met numerous times beginning in 2011, according to a New York Times report. But Gates had told CNN he only had dinners with him for potential philanthropic opportunities.
“It was a huge mistake to spend time with him, to give him the credibility of being there,” Gates said to Anderson Cooper. Gates said in the CNN interview he met with Epstein to raise more money to deal with global health issues. “I had several dinners with him, you know, hoping that what he said about getting billions of philanthropy for global health through contacts that he had might emerge,” Gates said. “When it looked like that wasn’t a real thing, that relationship ended.

Bill Gates did not call for 'death panels' for the sick at G20 summitBill Gates did not speak of an imminent need for 'death panels' at the G20 summit in Bali in November 2022 to 'end the lives of sick and unwell people', as claimed in social media posts shared in various languages. The billionaire philanthropist did not attend the event. The claims in fact take comments Gates made during a 2010 interview out of context. The full interview shows Gates made no mention about a need to cull the population; he mentioned 'death panels' as part of a conversation about what he described as the trade-off between high medical costs and cuts in other sectors.
