Biogen Inc. named veteran pharmaceutical executive Christopher Viehbacher president and chief executive on Thursday, capping a monthslong search for a new leader after the failed launch ofMr.
Viehbacher, who will also join the board, succeeds Michel Vounatsos, who has led Biogen since 2017 and in May said he would resign. The Cambridge, Mass., company has worked to chart a new course following Medicare’s refusal to cover its new Alzheimer’s drug Aduhelm.
