On Monday, Oct. 2, a correctional officer observed a trespasser carrying a backpack and attempted to communicate with him. The suspect dropped the backpack and ran into the woods. A school bus driver had spotted the suspect and notified the officers of the location, prison officials said.A Birmingham man is among two people arrested on contraband charges as separate Alabama prisons.
Holloway was booked into the Jefferson County Jail and released on bonds totaling $8,500. Authorities said more charges could be added.
