A New Jersey man who lit a guest on fire while hosting a July 4th bonfire at his home two years ago has been sentenced to five years in state prison.
Deshoin Rowell, 22, of Northfield, was sentenced to three concurrent five-year sentences — one each for aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a handgun and selling drugs in separate arrest, theThe last of the crimes took place on July 4, 2021 when Rowell intentionally poured flammable liquid onto the clothing of a then 18-year-old man, who caught fire.
In July 2019, Rowell sold cocaine to a police informant on North Main Street in Pleasantville. Then in late December of that year, he supplied a .45-caliber Glock 30 semi-automatic handgun to a man who used it in a shooting in Pleasantville.Rowland pleaded guilty to all three offenses in November.
