Meanwhile, ivermectin receives ongoing study, with the latest still finding no benefits related to COVID-19.
It’s written by Dr. Pierre Kory, a Wisconsin-based physician who has pushed for use of ivermectin to treat COVID-19 since early in the pandemic and has become involved in anti-mandate political movements.
Kory’s book will be published by Skyhorse Publishing and go on sale in February. Simon & Shuster is the distributor for Skyhorse, handling things such as warehousing and shipping, according to MedPage Today. A Simon & Shuster representative told MedPage Today it’s “distribution clients are completely independent third parties, noting that their editorial, marketing, and publicity decisions are made independently of Simon & Schuster, and that it does not pick and choose which titles to distribute.”
However, Dr. David Boulware, a University of Minnesota physician involved with research that found no ivermectin benefits related to COVID-19, told MedPage Today that, in the publication’s words, “lack of transparency from the federal government and poor data create the opportunity for misinformation and conspiracy theories around ivermectin to stick.”
