Sara Bareilles and her musical co-stars honored the late actor, who died of COVID-19 last year, with an onstage singalong.
Cordero had only recently begun to perform the song live in concert before testing positive for the coronavirus.“He is still a beautiful spirit and a beautiful soul, and we hold him very near and dear to our hearts,” Bareilles, who wrote the music for “Waitress” and stars in the current production, said of Cordero.

“I’ll never forget our first look, our first kiss as husband and wife and our first dance,” she wrote. “You’ll always be my husband, my angel now, but always the love of my life. Here’s to us.”
