Patty Mills is proving to be a wise investment for the star-studded Brooklyn Nets.
And while those players are making key contributions for their respective teams, a case can be made for Mills being the best of the mid-level exceptions, especially since he is doing it on a team operating under circumstances where its star players have missed time.
“Yeah it could be maybe in the NBA,” Mills said after scoring 34 points in a 122-115 win over the Lakers. “I think production-wise, playing for my country is probably where I tend to play the best as well. But, yeah, possibly. So far Mills has 17 career games with at least 25 points and three are this year. He also has 38 games with at least five 3-pointers and nine are this season, which is halfway to his total from his final two seasons with San Antonio.... [+]
With stellar numbers like those, it is hard to think this is the best season of Mills’ career, a sentiment his teammates did not disagree with
