Here are three things you need to know about the Colts before the Browns travel to Indianapolis in Week 7.
With Richardson out of action for the time being, veteran quarterback Gardner Minshew is at the controls of the Colts offense. Minshew had won his previous start in Baltimore in Week 3 and has gotten wins in relief of Richardson against the Texans and Titans.
Despite those numbers, Minshew is just 9-17 as a starting quarterback including Sunday’s loss. He doesn’t have a strong arm, but he’s proven to be a serviceable backup.The Colts had to wait five weeks for Jonathan Taylor to get into action as he ended his holdout prior to their Week 5 win vs. the Titans. He’s been rusty as expected considering his layoff with 37 yards rushing on 14 carries.
Jacksonville has been the only team to slow him down so far as the Jags held Moss to just 21 yards on seven carries. Shane Steichen has done a good job for the most part with the Colts’ offense as they’ve scored 20 points in all six games. The problem is they’ve had their fair share of problems defensively.
