Bryce Canyon search and rescue teams found a missing 64-year-old woman dead after searching for her for several hours.

National Park Services received a report at 7 p.m. on Friday that Jeanne Roblez Howell, a Flagstaff, Arizona resident, had not returned from a hike at 2 p.m.

She had taken a hike on the Fairyland Loop trail, where a thunderstorm delivered heavy rain to Bryce Canyon that afternoon. Flash flooding occurred along the 8-mile Fairyland Loop trail.At 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, search and rescue teams found the body of Howell about a mile east of the Fairyland Loop.
