Seoul on September 1, 2020. - K-pop sensation BTS has become the first all-South Korean act to rule the top US singles chart, industry tracker Billboard announced on August 31, with their English-language"Dynamite" hitting number one. Only a handful of the most successful musicians have debuted a song at No. 1 on the Hot 100,’s weekly ranking of the most popular tracks in the U.S., and even fewer have managed to do so more than once.
Now, for the first time, one act has accomplished that latter incredible feat twice, starting a pair of singles atop the Hot 100 in two different years.this week with “Permission to Dance,” which right now appears to be a standalone single. The tune was released alongside current smash “Butter” on a physical CD, and it’s actually a B-side, albeit an incredibly successful one. The track is BTS’s fourth instant champion on the most important songs ranking in the U.S.
