Peter McGuire has been charged with kidnapping, mayhem and sodomy by use of force.
man accused of torturing a woman who lived with him may have had additional victims, police said this week.
The investigation began on the evening of June 9, when deputies from the Chino Hills Police Department responded to a call for help at Alterra Park. There, they found a 22-year-old female victim with"visible injuries" who told them she had been held captive for six months in a nearby residence. The woman reportedly willingly moved in with Peter Anthony McGuire, 59, but when she told him she wanted to move out, he allegedly refused to let her leave.
When police went to the home to investigate, McGuire was already gone. Two days later, deputies found him at a home in Placentia where he was taken into custody. McGuire has been charged with kidnapping, mayhem and sodomy by use of force, the San Bernardino County district attorney's office said in a statement. He pleaded not guilty to 10 charges on Monday; McGuire is being held without bail and is due back in court on July 27.
"It is believed there may be additional victims of criminal acts committed by McGuire," the Chino Hills Police Department
