Astonishing Iceman #3 sees Captain America team up with a group who have never been fans of the X-Men. But if Cap's with them, they must be good.
No matter who's carrying the shield, Captain America has never liked seeing people get pushed around. Orchis has been going hard after mutants, especially during the recent Fall of X, so it's about time Cap shows up to push back. However, this Cap is neither Steve Rogers nor Sam Wilson, and he's joined forces with an unexpected team to fight for mutant rights.
Now in a preview for Astonishing Iceman #3 by Steve Orlando, Vincenzo Carratu, and Javier Tartaglia, he's teamed up with the Y-Men, humans who acquired superpowers, but who often stand against the X-Men. Originally, the Y-Men were a group of criminals gifted with heroic powers by mutant Leon Nunez as a way of paying off debts. Leon's mutant power ties into his work as a professional tattoo artist: he can give abilities to anyone via specific tattoo art. The Y-Men shown with Cap have some visible tattoos suggesting they've received their skills the same way. Fighting against Orchis and their fascist agent Mister Clean, Aaron and his new team have a chance to show off their new powers.
