I think the expectation from the public would be that she has some sort of jail time associated with it. Realistically based on what her past most likely is like, I would imagine there probably won’t be any actual jail time," said Merrell.If that plea is taken probation could be on the table for Russell.
“The vast majority of cases in the criminal system are resolved through some sort of a plea,” said Merrell. "The sentence would likely be 120 days or 180 days but the judge would likely suspend that and put her on probation for either a year or two and require her to go through certain processes. As long as she doesn’t commit any other offenses, once she got cleared of that probationary time she’ll be clear.”She could be found liable for the resources used during her 48-hour search.
