Over its Jack Nicklaus and Tom Fazio courses, Carlton Woods has hosted the 2004 Texas State Amateur, 2007 USGA State Team Championship, 2011 Texas State Mid-Amateur, 2013 Southern Amateur and 2014 U.S. Junior Amateur. Originally owned by Tenneco, new owners took over the 900-acre property at Houston Oaks in 2006 and have made it into a resort-like atmosphere. Renowned architect Chet Williams recently redesigned the 18-hole layout.
