Backed by a full band, the singer amped up the intensity and added a ton of soul to the normally alt-rock track. With lots of ad-libs and even a key change, it was packed with energy. Last month, Carter, 55, earned her second standing ovation from all of the judges, the first one taking place after her dazzling audition. "It's never too late. There's nothing to stop me now. It's my time and that's why I'm here," she recently said.
