KHOU 11's Matt Dougherty celebrates engagement to former Miss Texas with glamorous photos
The glamorous photos were taken by Grant Foto, one of the official photography studios of the Miss USA pageant.KHOU 11's Matt Dougherty and a former Miss Texas recently announced their engagement with stunning photos on Instagram.
The news reporter proposed to Nancy Gonzalez, Miss Texas 2017, a few months ago but waited for their engagement photos to come out to make it public. Four photos were posted, showing the couple in a suit and white dress and an up close shot of the ring. The caption on one of the posts from Dougherty read,"Lucky." And Gonzalez' post read,"Don't mind if I DO."The glamour shots were taken by Steven Grant, an official Miss USA photographer, at Hotel Galvez in Galveston.
Dougherty popped the question at the Post Oak Hilton, where he said he saw her for the first time and told her, he"couldn't take eyes off of her." He was covering the Miss Texas pageant in 2018 at the time, but they didn't meet until months later. The two started dating in 2019. Both are University of Houston alumni. A Houston native, Dougherty has been working at KHOU 11 since 2017 after time in Florida and El Paso. Gonzalez competed in the 2017 Miss USA pageant, representing Texas.
