Avoid Travel To These 3 New Destinations Due To Covid-19 Risk

White House Mandates Pfizer Vaccines for Millions of Citizens ...Before the FDA Clinical or Safety Reviews Have Been Made Public

Keep in mind though that the term epicenter is relative. It’s not as if the U.S. has become a Covid-19 not so much zone. If the CDC included the U.S. on its Covid-19 Travel Recommendations list, it would be squarely at Level 4. In fact, the U.S. having very high Covid-19 activity has been like the TV show, a constant ongoing re-run. It’s just that CDC can’t tell those in the U.S. to avoid travel to the U.S. because they are kind of already there.

Although Europe has been approaching the peak Covid-19 coronavirus infection rates seen last year, the situation is a bit different now with the Covid-19 vaccines available. The Czech Republic has fully vaccinated 57.8% of its population, Hungary 59.2%, and Iceland 76.3% against Covid-19. Those levels are not high enough to substantially curb the overall transmission rates of the virus.

Not all travel news out of the CDC today was bad. On the opposite end of spectrum, the CDC lowered six destinations down to Level 1: Japan, India, Pakistan, Liberia, Gambia and Mozambique. These six join destinations such as American Samoa, Indonesia, New Zealand, Taiwan at the low Covid-19 risk level. These destinations have had fewer than 50 reported Covid-19 cases per 100,000 residents over the past 28 days.

This could be a tough Winter for much of Europe. As the weather grows colder and drier and activities move indoors, transmission of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 could pick up even more. This bodes poorly for the U.S. as well. What happens with spiky balls in Europe doesn’t necessarily stay in Europe, especially with the U.S. recently opening up its borders to non-essential travel. The whole pandemic situation is dynamic and could change from week-to-week.
