The celebrity chef known for helping to define farm-to-table California cuisine in the 1980s is coming to the Bay Area.
The new, 9,240-square-foot space will be used for onsite workplace catering and workplace dining services, and eventually special event catering, a spokesperson told SFGATE. Offerings will include grab-and-go snacks, coffee and seasonally inspired meals, such as build-your-own salads and sandwiches, pizzas and “elevated comfort food.”
“We are excited to expand our footprint in the Bay Area with a commissary that supports additional capacity to increase our workplace partnerships and sets the stage for future growth in special events in the market," the company's president Pamela Brunson told the Business Times. Puck, who hails from Austria, opened his first restaurant, Spago, in West Hollywood in 1982 . He is known for helping to define farm-to-table California cuisine, particularly with gourmet pizzas such as a salmon and crème fraîche pizza.
Puck has received multiple James Beard awards over the years, and has opened a number of restaurants both across the United States and internationally. Wolfgang Puck Catering debuted in 1998, and currently operates in Los Angeles, Seattle, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, San Diego, Chicago, Philadelphia and Atlanta.in late 2019 to debut in the Bay Area for corporate events and social gatherings, but the pandemic delayed them.
