McNeil High School in Round Rock ISD is taking a homecoming tradition to a new level!
If you're new to Texas, it's a tradition for high school students to wear much smaller mums and garters made of fake flowers, ribbons and other ornaments during homecoming celebrations.
Round Rock ISD staff say the giant mum is made from 4,000 coffee filters, 1,200 sheets of tissue paper, 300 feet of butcher paper and about seven pounds of industrial hot glue sticks.Round Rock ISD said the top of the mum is bigger than the bed of a pickup truck. In fact it’s so huge it took four staff members to hoist it up into its hanging position, the district said.
