Moore spent the past four seasons as Cowboys offensive coordinator before parting ways with the team on Sunday.
The Chargers moved quickly to fire offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi three days afterJan. 14 to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and then moved even faster to find his replacement, Kellen Moore, the team announced Monday morning.
Moore, 33, spent four seasons with the Cowboys working with standout quarterback Dak Prescott. Dallas made his departure formal by releasing a statement Sunday from head coach Mike McCarthy indicating Moore and “the Cowboys reached a mutual decision to part ways.” The Chargers reportedly had received permission earlier to interview Moore after the Cowboys’ season-ending loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs earlier this month. The Chargers interviewed five other candidates, including three from the Rams.
