“The first LPGA event I went to, it was the one I played in,” Knight said. “I went to the Shell a few years but never got to see a girl play. For them to see us play and watch us on the range is something I wish I could have gotten to do.”
“I think it will be big and I hope it continues to get big,” Knight, 26, said. “There’s a lot of potential for it.” Knight considers the Chevron Championship to be her hometown tournament. Donnie Massengale, director of instruction at The Club at Carlton Woods, was the first person Knight took lessons from. Massengale worked with Knight for a couple of years at the beginner level starting at age 9 at Augusta Pines.
