Chicago weekend shootings have left at least 14 shot, one fatally, police said.
Saturday afternoon in Homan Square on the West Side. The male, whose age wasn't known, was in the back of a home about 1:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of West Grenshaw Street when someone fired shots, Chicago police said. He suffered a gunshot wound in the back and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His name hasn't been released. Area detectives are investigating.on the city's South Side on Saturday afternoon, the Chicago Police Department said.
A 25-year-old man was in a verbal altercation with an unidentified male offender in the Englewood neighborhood's 300 block of West 59th Street at about 12:42 a.m., police said. The offender produced a firearm and shot the victim multiple times throughout the body before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition. There is no one in custody and Area One detectives are investigating.
