Miles O'Brien is 'the most important man in Star Trek history,' played by one of its best actors, as proved by O'Brien's best TNG and DS9 episodes.
As the first character to bridge the gap between Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Chief Miles O'Brien has many great episodes in both shows. Star Trek: Lower Decks brilliantly paid tribute to O'Brien in season 1, episode 3, "Temporal Edict", when a flash forward revealed a future society teaching about O'Brien's importance to the Star Trek universe.

Keiko went into labor with her and Miles' daughter Molly, while O'Brien and Ensign Ro Laren clashed over the best course of action on the Enterprise bridge.

4 Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Season 5, Episode 24, "Empok Nor" "Empok Nor" sees Chief O'Brien lead a salvage mission to DS9's sister station Empok Nor. As the chief engineer of the former Cardassian space station, O'Brien is perfectly suited to the role, but events get out of control when Elim Garak is exposed to a psychotropic drug.
