OAKLAND -- Traffic on eastbound Interstate 580 in Oakland was shut down Friday night after gunmen in two vehicles were reported shooting at each other, wounding an uninvolved 8-year-old, the California Highway Patrol said.The 8-year-old was in an unrelated vehicle that was struck by gunfire, he said. The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The freeway was closed as police investigated and there was no estimated time for reopening, Barclay said.
