The Grammy-winning artist and entrepreneur has joined Trinidad-born founder and CEO Marc Farrell as an investor, co-owner and director for Ten To One rum.
“When I get a chance to do things and projects like this, I’m pretty involved,” said Ciara, who connected with Farrell through family friends. “I look a step before the actual product to work with really great business partners. For me all the boxes were checked. This is a space that not too many women occupy, and I saw a tremendous opportunity as an entrepreneur, and as a woman of color.
In Ciara’s role, she’ll be focusing on marketing, creative and business development, as well as strategic partnerships. Ciara and Farrell are in sync when talking about the brand and goals — to the point during our interview she jokes that she said “basically what Marc just did, but in my own way.” She’s sees the product as celebratory and one that captures the joy of Caribbean culture.
