Citizens United for Harvey\u0027s Youth helps teens
The goal of Citizens United for Harvey's Youth is to keep kids out of trouble. CBS 2's Shardaa Gray spoke to the organizers and one of the students who benefits.Former Thornton Township High School science teacher, Derek Atchinson said he's dedicated to keeping kids on the right path.
"I just know that without something to do, trouble will find them. And I just wanted to be a part of breaking that cycle," Atchinson said."There are a lot of programs that are alive and well. And since there are, why don't harvey know about those programs that are alive and well? So what I want to do is bring that to Harvey so CUFHY will know what's out there," Orr said.
"Harvey, it has my heart mainly because it has so many of my loved ones blood in the streets. I hate to say it that way," Dawkins said. "Miss Cassy told me about it and it really opened up the doors for me. It was a new experience. It was something that I really enjoyed," Davis said.

Which countries are evacuating citizens from Sudan?Hundreds of foreign nationals have been safely evacuated from Sudan where continued fighting threatens to plunge the African country deeper into chaos. Foreign governments deployed their military assets to fly people out safely - among them France, which is using its airbase in neighboring Djibouti for the airlift. Britain deployed hundreds of soldiers from its key airbase in the Cyprus to evacuate its diplomatic staff out of Khartoum. Despite the rapid mobilization, not all has proceeded smoothly - many Britons still in Sudan have complained that their government isn't giving them enough information about evacuation plans. Nonetheless, many countries are ramping up efforts to get their people out.

US facilitating land evacuation of private citizens in SudanThe United States has begun facilitating the departure of private U.S. citizens who want to leave Sudan, according to White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan. Sullivan says the U.S. has placed intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assets over the land evacuation route to help facilitate safe travel by land from Khartoum to the Port of Sudan, but does not have any U.S. troops on the ground.
