Boulder's Police Oversight Panel has been on a hiatus for nearly six months; now, there are new rules in place. The panel plans to continue meetings Nov. 8.

The Boulder City Council wrote a new ordinance explaining the process and role of the oversight panel for Boulder Police.BOULDER, Colo. — After a nearly six-month break, Boulder's Police Oversight Panel plans to resume meetings Nov. 8 after the Boulder City Council recently rewrote the rules for the panel, unanimously drafting a new ordinance.This spring, the controversy shifted from the police department to the oversight panel, with concerns one member was too critical of police.

"We knew that there was urgency to change this ordinance and we did so, but we didn't let perfection be the enemy of the good, and this ordinance is a massive improvement than the previous one," said Benjamin. "We're ready and excited to get back to work," Hadasah Villalobos, the oversight panel's co-chair said.
