City prosecutors on Wednesday dropped misdemeanor charges against a police detective accused of lying to prosecutors in a 2019 rape investigation, and for failing to re-open the case after receiving DNA evidence connected to a suspect.
CLEVELAND, Ohio –
Defense attorney Henry Hilow said the charges against McNeeley were not warranted, and that he felt bad for McNeeley and his family. The man raped her, and walked away, according to a police report. The woman was treated at Lutheran Hospital, where she spoke to officers and informed them the man left a pair of gloves inside her car.
