Police and district officials are investigating threatening messages that were posted on one of Aberdeen High School’s social media accounts.
“Posting threatening statements is not acceptable and it’s against the law,” Thake said. “The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We take threats seriously and I am grateful to the Aberdeen Police Department for launching an investigation right away and working with us to identify the suspect.”
Thake said the district is also concerned about the mental health of the students and staff and wants any students who might be experiencing anxiety due to the messages to contact the school counselor or a trusted adult. Anyone with information about the threats is asked to call the Aberdeen Police Department at 533-8765.
