British rock band Coldplay extended their record deal with Warner Music Group after their BTS collaboration song 'My Universe' peaks at No. 1.
has renewed its record deal with Warner Music Group, signing a long-term pact with Parlophone and Atlantic Records.
The British rock band comprised of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion originally signed to Parlophone U.K. in 1999, when the label was part of EMI. After Universal Music Group acquired EMI and divested itself of Parlophone in 2012, WMG purchased Parlophone and brought Coldplay under Atlantic Records in the U.S. starting with Grammy-nominated 2014 album.
"Coldplay became the biggest band on the planet by constantly challenging themselves and reinventing their sound," Warner Recorded Music CEO."They’ve always been great champions of their fellow artists, and their new collaboration with BTS is just the latest example of their boundary-crossing influence and inspiration.
