GoPuff, a billion-dollar delivery app popular among college students looking for beer and junk food, is now bringing groceries to healthcare workers
Six hospitals and counting have signed on, including: University of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia; Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C.; and Northwestern Memorial, Roseland Community and Saint Anthony hospitals in Chicago. The company is encouraging employees interested in joining toIt’s the latest example of a company looking to play some small role in assisting healthcare workers who are on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
ultra-fast average delivery time of 30 minutes, which the company says has not been impacted in the past few weeks. GoPuff said its employees have been doing “a great job keeping inventory in stock” and, since it does not allow customers into its warehouses, it is not competing with in-person shoppers for inventory.
Like other delivery services, it has introduced a no-contact delivery option, allowing customers to request that drivers leave orders at their door.
