As wildfires continued to batter Boulder County, Colorado, the mayor of Superior, Clint Folsom, estimated that"hundreds of homes" have already been lost to the infernos.Fire continues to spot and spread with extreme wind gusts.The entire town of Superior was also evacuated on Thursday afternoon, forcing its approximately 13,000 residents to flee for their lives.
Extremely fast wind gusts up to 100 MPH were fueling the blaze, also contributing to the flames rapidly moving across the drought-stricken area.People throughout the Denver metropolitan area lost power Thursday evening as raging wildfires and rapid winds continue to wreak havoc across Boulder County.
